Qatar's key route

Plans are now well in hand for Qatar's Lusail Expressway project, which is expected to cost some US$700 million in total.

Plans are now well in hand for Qatar's Lusail Expressway project, which is expected to cost some US$700 million in total. Bidding is underway for the first stretch of the highway, with the deal being handled by public works authority 2559 Ashghal. The bids have to be received by May 23rd 2011. The Doha road will stretch 5.8km and feature 16 lanes and is expected to take 30 months to finish. Seven firms have been prequalified to bid for the contract. Tendering for the second contract will open shortly.
