Putzmeister BSA 1407 D
The new 1259 Putzmeister BSA 1407 D stationary concrete pump has been completely overhauled for 688 Bauma says the German manufacturer, and the new machine features an easy-to-clean fibre-glass reinforced hood as well as an improved hopper (RS909), operating data clearly displayed on the unit’s patented in-cab Ergonic Graphic Display (EGD), and a sophisticated electronic fault management system. All of the essential operating elements of the new BSA 1407 D are easily accessible, claims Putzmeister, in an effort to make maintenance and servicing work easier. Swing doors, for example, ensure easy access, and protect the machine operator. And, because of its screw-on grille, the new, optimized hopper (RS 909) makes it easier to replace components. Also, thanks to the improved shape of the pump, hardly any concrete residue can settle on the housing, which speeds up cleaning significantly.

The EGD (Ergonic Graphic Display) facility allows the operator to view all relevant machine data at all times, and adjust individual parameters. For instance, if non safety-relevant components such as sensors fail, they can be switched off. The pump can continue working uninterrupted until the job is complete. Up-to-date feedback and system information for the machine appear in real time on the display.

Elsewhere on the Putzmeister stand, the manufacturer will be showing its SPM 500 WETKRET Series concrete spraying system with a new additive dosing system. With a vertical spraying reach of 17 m and a concrete flow of 30m3 per hour, the machine is suitable for both medium and large section tunnels, galleries and slopes and uses a new automatic system for high precision synchronization between the concrete pump and the additive dosing unit. To do this, the peristaltic pump has been replaced by a helicoidal additive dosing pump, regulated by closed loop and controlled electronically, providing a 40% increase in additive flow capacity. This means additives which require high dosage rates can be used without having to reduce the concrete flow rate. The machine therefore increases productivity. The new direct measurement system on the SPM 500 WETKRET uses an electromagnetic flow meter to provide an instantaneous measurement, ensuring accuracy regardless of system wear and giving operators an optimum mix at all times, ensuring spraying accuracy and quality.

Also, the hydraulic spraying arm of the SPM 500 WETKRET allows vertical alignment to be maintained automatically, and the machine’s chassis features four driving and steering wheels with crab mode for difficult driving situations. The machine has two front and two rear legs, protected against possible impacts, and a two-speed driving system allows the machine to travel quickly over level surfaces and climb gradients of up to 35% at low speed.
