Putzmeister adds five-section pump

Putzmeister has added a five-section 38m, 160m3/hr concrete pump, which can be used to place loads inside buildings some 3m higher than the four-section option. Built on a 26tonne chassis, the new 38.5 can reach heights of 31m while leaving the final boom section to pass inside the building. In common with the company’s other machines, the 38.5 now has outrigger sensing, which feeds into the control system and prevents the boom from extending/slewing if the outriggers are not fully deployed. Putzmeister’s new five section pump offers an additional 3m of height
1259 Putzmeister has added a five-section 38m, 160m3/hr concrete pump, which can be used to place loads inside buildings some 3m higher than the four-section option.

The machine also benefits from Putzmeister’s weight reduction drive, which sees the gross weights brought down from the chassis’ design weight to the GVW. This ensures the machines won’t suffer from additional weight restrictions although Paul Kimberlin, CEO of Putzmeister UK, said he expects the pumps to continue being registered as construction plant.

Also updated is the Ergonic 2 remote control system, which is now 30% lighter and includes a 90mm screen, which displays full information about the machine’s setting and operation.

Compared to concreting with a delivery pipe, placement speed with the tracked concrete pump is now said to be considerably higher.
