Tenders are being evaluated for a 37km section of the S3 dual carriageway between Gorzow Wielkopolski and Miedzyrzecz in Poland. The deal is worth some €395 million. The lowest offer of 10 bids made for the section from Gorzow to Skwierzyna was from a consortium led by Portuguese Mota-Engil, and it was 55% of the projected price. The section from Skwierzyna to Miedzyrzecz had nine bidders with 945 Strabag making the lowest offer. All bids will be examined fully, with the various agreements expected to take place in June 2011. Meanwhile 3533 Autostrada Wielkopolska (AW), which is building a section of the A2 highway from Swiecko to Nowy Tomysl in Poland, is spending €37 million on constructing intersections, some of which will lead nowhere as construction of the roads which they connect has been shelved. The majority of the sum will be spent on three junctions: Slupca, Kleszczewo and Gluchowo. Strabag is to go ahead with the construction of the Gluchowo junction for delivery in May 2012 as planned, according to AW.
