Philippines tourism roads to receive US$316.15mn in 2014

The Philippines Government will inject US$316.15 million (PHP 13bn) into improving tourism roads during 2014, in order to transport tourists to all parts of the archipelago. The latest cash for tourism roads follows the allocation of $507.73 million (PHP 21bn) from 2011-2013.

    The New Zealand government is to fund a NZ $ 10 million investment in additional speed cameras in a bid to improve road safety nationally. The ratio of speed cameras per 0.1mn people stands at 1.3 compared to 2.5 and 4.8 in the Australian states of New South Wales and Victoria, respectively. The New Zealand Transport Agency (NZTA) will use the government cash to increase the number of speed cameras from 55 to at least by 2015.

    Public private partnerships (PPP) are being set up by the Indonesian Government to construct three toll road projects valued at US$783.3 million (IDR 9.40tn).
