Philippines ready to invite PPP tenders

In the Philippines, Eleazar E Ricote, director of the Public-Private Partnership Center, said that bids would be invited for several PPP projects in the coming few months.

Tenders for the South Luzon-North Luzon Expressway link worth about $487.2 million as well as two deferred projects of Ninoy Aquino International Airport expressway worth some $245.4 million and Daang Hari-South Luzon Expressway link worth approximately $37 million would be opened in June, 2011.

Investors would be invited to bid for the estimated $5.8 billion Light Rail Transit 1 south extension project from August, 2011 onwards.

The Puerto Princesa Airport development project will be released for tender by September 2011 at a value of around $101 million, while in October, 2011 tenders will be invited for the Laguindingan Airport privatisation project worth $34.8 million as well as the Legaspi Airport and Bohol Airport development projects worth $74.2 million and $176 million respectively.

The $243.51 million Cavite-Laguna expressway extension project will be available for tender by December, 2011.

The project costs are subject to change.
