At the CECE Congress in Madrid l Navarro, president of the Ricardo Valle Innovation Foundation, made an impassioned plea for European industrial leaders and businesses to collaborate more to innovate on a scale which will allow European companies to compete better on the global stage.

Also at the CECE Congress in Madrid this morning; Professor Mario Weitz, of the ESIC Business School,  said he had noticed more dogs being walked in city parks than children playing, which underlines Europe’s evolving demographic problem for industry. We need more young and more highly technically trained innovators to reindustrialise in the age of changing supply chains and a disturbing geopolitical situation.

    European construction sales grew by 15% in 2017, according to the Annual Economic Report 2018* from the CECE After a strong first quarter, growth slowed in Q2, before rising in Q3 and Q4, according to the CECE - Committee for European Construction Equipment. Current levels of sales are on par with the levels seen in 2006 and 2008, but the industry is still 20% below the 2007 peak.
