Oman sees road safety gain

Oman’s roads have shown a gain in safety during the first four months of 2016. Crashes dropped 32% for the first four months of this year, compared with the same period during 2015. However road deaths during the first four months of 2016 increased by 1.4% to 210. In all there were 1,413 crashes in the first four months of 2016, while injuries were reduced by 22.8% to 903.

    France saw its road deaths rise by almost a third in May 2014 compared to the same month of last year, according to new figures from Sécurité Routière. A total of 258 people were killed on France's roads in May 2014, 63 (32.3%) more than in May 2013. During this period, the number of people injured rose by 10%, or by 20% if only those requiring hospital treatment are included.
