A Chinese contractor is to build a major expressway link in Nigeria. The contract is for a 15km section of highway. The work will be handled by 890 China Railway Construction.
Egis is now working on a new contract for Vindhyachal Expressway Private Limited (VEPL) on India’s National Highway 7.
The three year concession is for the 73km National Highway 7 (NH-7), which connects the main city of Rewa and Hanumana of the Indian federal state of Madhya Pradesh. Egis is in charge of toll collection, route patrolling and incident management and routine maintenance of a section of the stretch (40 km) with one toll plaza of 6 lanes.
Kiratpur Ner Chowk Expressway has given IL&FS Engineering Services (IL&FS) a letter of intent (LoI) for an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract in India worth US$263.9 million (INR 14.36bn). Under the deal, IL&FS will undertake a scope of work including minor bridges, five tunnels, 18 major bridges, toll plazas, 67.3km of road work and related infrastructure. The expressway project includes the EPC contract as well as expanding the Kiratpur Ner Chowk section of the National Highway 21 in
Nigeria’s Oyo State is planning to rebuild bridges damaged by flooding in Ibadan and Oyo town. Contracts have now been awarded for the work. The bridges identified for rebuilding are Apete Bridge, Ayeye Bridge, Osoro River Bridge, Ogbere Babanla Bridge, Olomi Bridge and Secretariat Road Bridge in Ibadan as well as Alaadorin Bridge and Sakutu Bridge in the town of Oyo.
