An important transport infrastructure event is being held in Oman from the 8th-11th September 2013 at the Grand Hyatt hotel in Muscat. The Oman Land Transport Infrastructure Summit is being run as an information sharing, business event aimed at the country’s growing infrastructure development and rise in transport regulations. Oman Land Transport Infrastructure is a platform discussing the current traffic, transport and infrastructure challenges faced with the design and construction of roads, bridges and highways, and the planning and implementation of the Oman National Railway project. Organisations such as the Ministry of Transport and Communications, Regional Municipalities, leading design, construction, contractors and consultants are coming together to share and discuss solutions and innovations to overcome the challenges. Oman Land Transport Infrastructure will focus on implementing Intelligent Transport Systems to reduce accidents and fatalities, increasing profits on projects without compromising the quality and reducing additional infrastructure investments through efficient planning of projects. It will also focus on using the latest technologies and products to improve the design, construction and safety of infrastructure projects and integrating all modes of transportation to boost economic growth.
