A new loan will aid construction of a major link in Albania

In Albania the government is giving its approval for an €80 million (US$104.4 million) loan being provided by the European Investment Bank (EIB). The project is for the Fier bypass, which forms part of the Tirana-Vlora highway. The project has faced a series of delays since work commenced a number of years ago. However this new funding will help ensure the work is completed

To achieve this programme a new consortium will be set-up to secure part of the necessary capital, while part will be financed by strategic partners.     Abu Dhabi Fund for Development (ADFD) has agreed to provide a loan of AED183.50million (US$49.95million) for the construction of the Tirana-Elbasan road project. The completed works will shorten travelling time between both cities contributing to Albania's economic growth through the support of domestic trade exchange.
