A new highway will connect Beijing with Taipei

The authorities in China have revealed that construction of the Fuzhou section of the new Beijing-Taipei highway will commence by late May 2012. The two-way four-lane expressway will have a design speed of 100km/h. The 53km Fuzhou section is expected to cost some US$1.04 billion to construct. This section of highway will take four years to complete.

    In Vietnam work is now underway on a major new highway that will connect Ho Chi Minh city, Long An and Dong Nai. This 57km highway is currently the biggest road project in Vietnam’s southern region. The four-lane highway will have a speed limit of 100km/h and the project is costing some US$1.6 billion. The construction work will be carried out by a Chinese contractor, which has signed a deal with the Macedonian Government.
