New Czech motorway in final stages

Construction began earlier this week of the last section of the US$630.30million D8 motorway through the Ceske Stredohori mountain range in the Czech Republic. The geological survey on the 12.7km road has been under way since 23 April, 2012. The D8 project is expected to be completed by early 2015.

    The completion of work on Colombia’s troubled tunnel project is now finally in sight. A new contractor will be selected by Colombia's National Road Institute (Invias) to complete the last section of work required on the La Linea Tunnel.     Workers in Slovakia have broken through the first of two passages in a tunnel near Zilina as part of an 11km D1 highway project.     Bertha, the tunnelling machine that is making its way under the US city of Seattle, has restarted work after nearly three weeks of scheduled maintenance downtime.
