Tenders are now being placed for a €1 billion a contract to double the capacity of the A1/A6 highway in the Netherlands. This deal forms part of a €4.4 billion road plan. The contract will entail the construction of 18km of new motorway, eight connections with other roads and two service areas. Spanish concessions firm, 1377 Globalvia, and German construction firm, 981 Hochtief, are taking part in the tender. 2378 Macquarie, Vinci, 1378 John Laing, 945 Strabag, 7167 Meridiam and Mott McDonald have also shown an interest in taking part in the tender as well as financial firms, 3320 Credit Agricole, 3321 Deutsche Bank, 2621 China Development Bank and 3322 Societe Generale.

    Strabag consortium has signed a contract for construction of a 15.2km section of the A1 motorway between Wozniki and Pyrzowice.
