Improvement work on a stretch of road in Mozambique is due to start shortly.

Improvement work on a stretch of road in Mozambique is due to start shortly. The project expected to cost some US$110.5 million in all, with EU funding supplying close to $97 million of the amount required. The work involves improving and resurfacing the existing road and extending it by 250km. The project is located in Mozambique's Zambeze region, with the work being carried out by a Portuguese contractor.

    Two new roads are now being built in Mozambique by Portuguese firm Mota Engil Engenharia. The total package is worth some US$148 million (€116 million). These two roads are the latest in a series of contracts Mota Engil Engenharia has won in Mozambique during 2010.
