Mozambique’s road network is to receive international funding for various projects. The 304km road connecting Cuamba and Lichinga in Niassa province will be improved under the plan.

    The Japanese SE Group is working on a new road project in Vietnam. The 25km highway is costing some US$476 million to construct, with some 60% of the funding coming from the JBIC Bank and SE Group providing around 20%. The rest of the funding will be provided by official development assistant capital. This new road will provide a link from the city of Halong in Vietnam's Quang Ninh province to the Hanoi-Haiphong highway project.

    Several major highway projects are being planned for Vietnam. The largest is for the construction of the North-South Expressway, which will improve transport connections for the country. Financing is being secured for the North-South Expressway, with some US$5.23 billion being secured. The Vietnamese Government will pay up to 39% of the cost of the work, with loans and private sector funding paying for the remaining 61%. Meanwhile a South Korean contractor will carry out a series of road projects in Can
