Mozambique’s road network is to receive international funding for various projects. The 304km road connecting Cuamba and Lichinga in Niassa province will be improved under the plan.
Working is commencing on a key road project in Argentina’s Buenos Aires Province. The road will connect Canuelas, on the south western outskirts of capital Buenos Aires, with the town of Azul. The improved route will boost transport between Buenos Aires and Azul, which lies to the south west of the capital, and will also pass through the towns of Las Flores and Cachari. A key milestone of the Ten Step Project Tanzania, TanRAP – launched on 14 September 2022 – is an initiative headed by the Ministry of Works and Transport (MoWT), which aims to build capacity and improve the safety of road infrastructure in the country in partnership with other leading stakeholders such as Tanzania National Roads Agency (TANROADS), Tanzania Rural and Urban Roads Agency (TARURA), Tanzania Road Association (TARA), National Institute of Transport (NIT), Road Safety Ambassadors (RSA), Roads Fund Board (RFB), development banks, mobility clubs, road safety NGOs and industry.
