Mozambique’s road network is to receive international funding for various projects. The 304km road connecting Cuamba and Lichinga in Niassa province will be improved under the plan.
Mexican construction company Empresas ICA has entered a partnership with Canadian investment company CDPQ to carry out joint road projects in Mexico.
Under the arrangement, subject to Mexican government approval, ICA holds a 51% interest in the partnership and CDPQ will pay US$197.17 million to ICA for its 49% equity share of the new business.
The companies are planning four projects: the Mayab motorway, the Rio-Verde-Ciudad Valles motorway, the La Piedad bypass and the Acapulco tunnel.

The tender process is being planned for the Myanmar-Korea Friendship Bridge, which will connect Myanmar’s commercial centre Yangon to Dala Township. Over $137 million in loans have been pledged by the Korean Economic Development Cooperation Fund to develop the 1.87km long suspension bridge. The tender process will be international and the work is due for completion by 2020. In all the project is expected to cost in the region of $168 million.
Key road projects in Poland look set to move forward. A tender process will commence shortly for a project in Lodz. Poland’s road authority, GDDKiA, will start the Western ring-road tender process. Poland's Infrastructure Ministry will give the go-ahead. The project involves building under 29km of the S14 dual carriageway to complete the circle around Lodz.
