Mozambique’s road network is to receive international funding for various projects. The 304km road connecting Cuamba and Lichinga in Niassa province will be improved under the plan.
Indonesia’s state-owned toll operator, Jasa Marge, is bidding for two major toll road projects. The toll road operating concessions are for the Balikpapan-Samarinda and Manado-Bitung routes.
The 99m Balikpapan-Samarinda toll road will connect capital Jakarta with East Kalimantan province. By 2018, the 39km Manado-Bitung toll road will run between the western and eastern parts of North Sulawesi.
Jasa Marga has also found the financing necessary to fund the Medan-Kuala Namu-Tebing Tinggi toll road in Deli
Construction is now underway for the project to build Cambodia's National Road No 5. Costing in the order of US$185 million, the project also includes building two city bypasses. Much of the funding for the project is being supplied in the shape of a loan from the Japanese Government. This 85km route is of key importance to Cambodia as it will provide a link from the capital, Phnom Penh, to the border with neighbouring Thailand. The highway provides a new link that connects Banteay Meanchey Province
The Brazilian state government of Parana has spent around US$1.73 billion on infrastructure projects over the past four years, including roads, railways, airports, ports and public buildings.
According to Jose Richa Filho, the state’s infrastructure secretary, more investments will be made by local partners and through international financing. Around $3.63 million for road works between 2015 and 2018 with fund coming from partnerships with Votorantim and Klabin.
