Mozambique’s road network is to receive international funding for various projects. The 304km road connecting Cuamba and Lichinga in Niassa province will be improved under the plan.
A new highway connection is now under construction that will link capital Beijing to Zhangjiakou. The new road will be 113km long and is being constructed to improve accessibility for the 2022 Winter Olympics being held in Beijing. The project will be carried out under the PPP model according to the official Chinese news agency, Xinhua. The government of Belarus is investing more than US$200 million in the building of a new ring road around the country’s capital Minsk, in accordance with a government decree. Implementation of the project is taking place as part of the existing large-scale state road building programme in the country until 2017, with the total cost estimated at US$5 billion.
