Morocco continues to develop highways

Morocco’s highway network continues to improve and develop, with new sections and connections being opened.

Morocco’s highway network continues to improve and develop, with new sections and connections being opened. A 16.5km stretch of the Casablanca-Rabat highway is one of the latest to be opened to traffic. The project is now around 75% complete, with over 42km of the work having been finished. The latest stretch opened features three-lanes in either direction.

    Austrian contractor Strabag will lead the consortium constructing a stretch of the S7 expressway in Poland. Strabag is teaming up with Heilit+Woerner for the project to build the Trasa Nowohucka section of the S7 linking Rybitwy and Igołomska and lying to the east of Kraków. Construction work is commencing in August/September 2014 and the contract is worth around €130 million. The consortium is handling the upgrading and construction work for some 18.6km of roads in all.     Key highway projects are progressing in Australia. In the state of Victoria, the authorities are planning a road widening project for the Monash Freeway that will cost an estimated US$289.54 million (A$400 million). The project calls for the route to be widened to five lanes in either direction for the stretch between the EastLink and the South Gippsland Highway.
