Montenegro and Bosnia co-operate on highway

Montenegro is to start work on a new highway project in cooperation with neighbouring Bosnia. The countries will work together on the Podgorica-Sarajevo highway and the two projects will be discussed by the governments of both countries soon. Meanwhile in nearby Serbia, the Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy has held discussion with the World Bank (WB) regarding a new loan of €100 million for construction of the Corridor 10 motorway.

RSSMontenegro is to start work on a new highway project in cooperation with neighbouring Bosnia. The countries will work together on the Podgorica-Sarajevo highway and the two projects will be discussed by the governments of both countries soon. Meanwhile in nearby Serbia, the 5251 Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy has held discussion with the 2332 World Bank (WB) regarding a new loan of €100 million for construction of the Corridor 10 motorway.

    China Roads and Bridges Corporation has started work on Montengro’s first motorway that will eventually connect Bar (Tiva) on the Adriatic coast with Boljare on the border with Serbia. The first part of the 170km motorway will be a 49km stretch for which China's Exim Bank reportedly paid €94.30 million as the first installment for its construction. Also in the region, Bosnia Herzogovina is planning a new 110km highway to link its Adriatic coast to that further south in Montenegro.

    Talks between the Chinese Development Bank and the Serbian Government could result in Chinese funding for Serbian highway projects. The Danube coast project and the Corridor 11 highway project have been identified. Some €400-€450 million of Chinese financing could be made available to Serbia for highway projects following the most recent series of discussions.
