Work is now commencing on a new highway megaproject in China. The 204km highway will be built in China’s Hebei Province and will cost around US$4.09 billion to construct. The project forms part of a network of expressways in Chengzhang.

A major programme of highway development is being seen in China's Jiangxi Province. The rate of highway construction is being increased and the authorities are aiming to boost the network to a total of 5,000km by the end of 2015 and 6,000km by the end of 2016. China’s Sichuan Province is working on a major programme of road development works that will help expand and improve the overall network.
