Work is now commencing on a new highway megaproject in China. The 204km highway will be built in China’s Hebei Province and will cost around US$4.09 billion to construct. The project forms part of a network of expressways in Chengzhang.
Construction work on a major highway project in Pakistan linking Peshawar with Karachi is now underway. Building the section from Sukkur to Multan is expected to take 36 months. Once complete, the six-lane highway will stretch 392km in length. In all the Peshawar-Karachi highway will be some 1,152km long and will also pass through Lahore. Funding worth US$2.89 billion is being provided by the Export-Import Bank of China with the construction work being carried out by China State Construction Engineering Cor
A total of US$1.89billion (CNY 11.97bn) has been allocated to build 51.47km of highways across the city of Shijiazhuang in Hebei Province, China. The feasibility report for the plan was recently approved by provincial authorities.
A financial package worth US$793 million is being provided by Chinese firm CDB Leasing for a highway project expansion programme in China’s Henan province. Henan currently has 5,196km of highways in use. The plan is to expand the network to more than 6,600km in 2015.
Work is commencing on a key a bridge link in China. The new bridge will be located in Shandong's Dongming County and will take four years to construct.
