Mecalac MCR6 combines excavator and loader in one machine

Mecalac Group has introduced the MCR6 compact excavator, first previewed at last year’s Intermat exhibition. A combination of both compact excavator and loader in a single machine, the MCR6 joins the larger MCR8 and MCVR10 in the Mecalac line. Mecalac’s MCR6 is the first model to come from the firm’s Turkish facility

A combination of both compact excavator and loader in a single machine, the MCR6 joins the larger MCR8 and MCVR10 in the Mecalac line.

Capable of travelling at speeds up to 10km/h, the MCR machines can switch from excavator to loader mode in seconds, providing customers with a highly versatile machine. The MCR6 weighs in at 6tonnes and is powered by a 55kW engine. Maximum tearout force in excavator configuration is 2,580daN.

The compact machine is the first model to be built at Mecalac’s new site in Izmir, Turkey. Though the company has spare capacity at both its French and German factories, each of which build around 700 machines per year but have a capacity closer to 1,000, Mecalac has opted for a third facility in Turkey to get closer to new emerging markets. With that in mind the company has signed a distribution agreement with Borusan that should see increased penetration of export markets.

Mecalac Group has also created a new subsidiary company in Poland, called Mecalac Polska, that will handle the full range of equipment within the country.
