Norway’s Ministry of Transport and Communications wants to curb the construction of new roundabouts in the Scandinavian country.
The ministry reportedly wrote to the Public Roads Administration (Statens vegvesen) in mid December, asking that new main roads have no roundabouts. Also, the ministry wants new roads to be located if possible built outside of large settlements to avoid the need for traffic calming measures, such as speed bumps.

FM Conway, the leading infrastructure services company, has won a major road maintenance contract with the south London, England borough of Lewisham worth up to €25.47 million (£21 million).

The South African National Roads Agency (SANRAL) said it is on track to announce tender winners for two bridges, across the Msikaba River and Mtentu River, by the end of the year.
The Msikaba River Bridge will be constructed on the N2 Wild Coast Toll Road and will consist of a cable-stayed 580m-long structure spanning a deep gorge.
The Mtentu River Bridge, also on the N2 Wild Coast Toll Road and around 12km to the north of Msikaba River, is expected to be a concrete structure and nearl.y 1.2kkm long.
