Canadian firm Ritchie Bros is planning a major auction for construction machines at its site in St Aubin sur Gaillon, France, on March 3rd 2015. The unreserved public auction will feature a large selection of heavy equipment items from several equipment owners, including major French contractor Eiffage Travaux Publics. The auction firm will sell all of the items without minimum bids or reserve prices. Bids can be made in the auction live in person, online and by proxy.
The Norwegian quarry firm Feiring Bruk reports an 88% reduction in fines following the commissioning of its new wet processing plant. The firm operates primarily in eastern Norway and has 10 sites extracting and producing crushed stone, gravel and asphalt.
Normally in hilly ground, we would use the excavated soil from the cuttings to fill the valleys," says Bogdan Sgarcitu, External Affairs Manager of construction company Bechtel. "But on this stretch the clay-like soil cannot be compacted, so we've had to use many more piles than normal: in just three months we installed more than 500, some drilled as deep as 24m. We've also had to transport millions of tonnes of materials over some less-than-perfect infrastructure."
