Malacca state in Malaysia to spend US$196.75mn on road building
The Malacca state government in Malaysia will spend US$196.75 million (MYR 612.30mn) to build and improve roads in the state. The budget will develop 73 road projects that will connect more places within the state.

The Malacca state government in Malaysia will spend US$196.75 million (MYR 612.30mn) to build and improve roads in the state. The budget will develop 73 road projects that will connect more places within the state.
Austrian state-owned motorway operator Asfinag says it will invest US$ 1.28 billion (€960mn) in motorways and highways in 2013. This includes $466.65 million for maintenance. The rest is for new roads and extensions of existing ones. A total of $9.19 billion will be spent between now and 2018. The company said that its debts will rise from $15.73 billion to $15.99 billion. One focus will be on improving the safety of tunnels. Asfinag will also make an effort to avoid construction-related traffic jams.
In Australia, New South Wales Roads Minister Duncan Gay said talks are continuing between federal and state governments to develop a US$3.03 billion (AUD 3bn) F3-M2 road link in north-west Sydney. It is reported that NSW and federal governments will each pump up to US$407.83 million (AUD 400mn) in to the project.
