Major transport investment for Uganda

Work on Uganda's Mbarara-Ntungamo road project will commence in March 2011.

RSSWork on Uganda's Mbarara-Ntungamo road project will commence in March 2011. The project will be funded by the 3287 EU and is expected to cost some US$138 million (€103.6 million).

Israeli contractor 1074 RCC will carry out the work, which involves widening the road, improving the surface and straightening out the route. The improvements will reduce journey times, increase capacity and improve safety for road users. A compensation package has been approved by Uganda's Government for locals affected by the project.
