A major new toll link will boost Indonesia’s transport connections
Construction work on the 13.6km Gempol Pandaan toll road in East Java is commencing. The US$174.5 million project will take 18 months to complete and is expected to open for traffic in the third quarter of 2013.

Construction work on the 13.6km Gempol Pandaan toll road in East Java is commencing. The US$174.5 million project will take 18 months to complete and is expected to open for traffic in the third quarter of 2013.
Two of China’s provinces, Shanxi and Sichuan, have announced plans to invest in infrastructure expansion. Shanxi Province has plans to invest US$3.44 billion in road construction projects during 2014. Seven new highway projects with a total length exceeding 375km will commence in the year. Work on the DFW Connector project in Texas is now 50% complete. When it is finished, the DFW Connector project will reduce congestion for drivers in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. The DFW Connector is the largest investment of American Recovery and Reinvestment Act funding, US$260 million, in a highway project.
Construction work on a 48km section of road connecting Tizi-Ouzou with Algeria’s East-West motorway is due for completion in 2016.
