A major new toll link will boost Indonesia’s transport connections
Construction work on the 13.6km Gempol Pandaan toll road in East Java is commencing. The US$174.5 million project will take 18 months to complete and is expected to open for traffic in the third quarter of 2013.

Construction work on the 13.6km Gempol Pandaan toll road in East Java is commencing. The US$174.5 million project will take 18 months to complete and is expected to open for traffic in the third quarter of 2013.
Indonesia has further plans to expand its toll road network. By 2024 1,500km of toll road projects will be complete. And by 2030, around 4,480km of toll roads will be complete. This programme of works will require US$44.33 billion to complete. Funding will be provided from a combination of government and private sources. The work will be carried out across Indonesia, including Nusa Tenggara, Java, Bali, Sumatra, Sulawesi and Kalimantan.
Work on Indonesia’s massive Trans Kalimantan road link will commence in 2016. The planned route stretches for some 7,600km and the project will be started by the Indonesian Government. The budget for the project is still unclear. The cost of the project was estimated in 2014 at US$496.74 million. A US$174 million road project is now commencing in Puerto Rico. The work will be carried out on the route connecting the PR-30 and PR-18 and involves reworking the road so that it features two reversible lanes. The project is expected to take 24 months in all, with the work being split into five separate phases. Construction of the first section connecting PR-175 with Montehiedra is expected to cost nearly $40 million as this complex stretch will include building four bridges as well as other civils work.
