Major Bulgarian highway on track for completion

Work on the new Trakiya Highway in Bulgaria is on track, with some 70km already open to traffic. When it is complete, the new highway will link Karnobat and Burgas on Bulgaria’s Black Sea coast. The final section of the Trakiya Highway, Lot 4, is due for completion in February 2013 and openin this stretch will allow the entire route to be used, reducing travel times between capital Sofia and Burgas.

    Vietnam is pushing ahead with its road and highway development programme. One crucial project is for the construction of the Ho Chi Minh (HCM) Road project. When complete the route will connect Cao Bang with Ca Mau, with some US$903 million required to finish the work. Around 79% of the 2,744km HCM route is open already, with the road due for completion by 2020.
