Saint-Gobain PAM UK and Burdens have won a major contract for ductile iron access covers
Iron technology solutions provider 757 Saint-Gobain PAM UK has joined forces with 2850 Burdens to win a major contract for its ductile iron access covers and gratings.

The contract from main contractor 2849 VolkerFitzpatrick is for the £62.5 million (e73 million) East Kent Access Route project in south-east England, and includes more than 1,200 Aquamax gratings.

Burdens’ commitment to the Aquamax range and its capacity to offer to the customer a complete range of materials backed by its service was also a key factor in the contract win.

The contract involves the construction of 8km of dual carriageway as well as a jacked-box structure required to construct 105m of dual carriageway underneath the existing Ramsgate to Canterbury railway line.

VolkerFitzpatrick and 981 Hochtief will be working alongside Kent Highway Services and its agent 1662 Jacobs.
