Loans are expected that will fund new toll road projects in Indonesia

In Indonesia the Ministry of Public Works has applied for loans worth US$122 million in its budget in 2013. This will be used to finance the development of three national toll road developments. The three toll road projects are the Tanjung Priok access toll road; the Cileunyi Sumedang Dawuan project; and the Medan-Kualanamu project. The loan for the Tanjung Priok project is from Japan International Cooperation Agency while the loans for the other two projects are from China.

    Chinese funding will help deliver the construction of a major new road project in Senegal. A loan worth US$704.6 million will help finance the construction of Senegal’s new 113km highway connecting Touba and Thiès. The contractor China Road and Bridge Construction (CRBC) will carry out the construction works, which is expected to require 45 months to complete. The loan will be paid back over a 25-year period using toll revenues.
