Turnover from construction machinery and mining equipment recorded an above-average increase of 13.5 % in 2011, generating revenues of €5.38billion.

Liebherr said the development of its earthmoving and mining divisions in 2011, the latter’s financial results disclosed separately in the accounts for the first time, was especially dynamic. An upward revenue trend in almost all divisions, and corresponding growth of the Group, is said to have also led to 2,354 new jobs at Liebherr in 2011. This took the Group’s total global workforce to 35,333 employees.

On the Liebherr Group’s outlook for 2012, a Group spokesperson said: “The Liebherr Group is maintaining its course for growth in 2012. Increases are realistic in all divisions. The Group anticipates an increase in total turnover of the order of 10%.

This is associated with the creation of additional jobs. Investments will also be higher again. The current view for 2012 is that an improved result is possible compared with the previous year.”
