L576 and L580 wheeled loaders have been given revised engines with clean emissions technology and tweaked outputs.

It means the L576 delivers 205kW for its 10.5 litre six-cylinder engine, which is equipped with common rail fuel injection, DOC and DPF.

718 Liebherr explained the cooling system has been suitably adapted to the needs of the engine’s increased performance, and the cooling package is now transversely mounted behind the cab, making cleaning and maintenance easier, it is claimed.

The proven hydrostatic driveline remains unchanged, but Liebherr said that its newly developed LPE (Liebherr-Power-Efficiency) system constantly manages performance according to duty cycle, to ensure the best possible fuel consumption at all times.

LPE can deliver additional fuel savings of up to 8%, said the company.

Cummins used bauma to reveal the QSF3.8 – a four-cylinder engine platform delivering a power range of 63-89kW – which is ready to meet Stage IV/Tier 4 Final emissions regulations. Using only SCR for its exhaust after-treatment process, the QSF3.8 avoids the need for either DOC or DPF as a result of using a high-efficiency catalyst to convert oxides of nitrogen at lower exhaust temperatures while requiring only low doses of DEF, said the company.

John Deere Power Systems used bauma to complete its engine line-up for Tier 4 Final/Stage IV emissions regulations. This included the arrival of the PowerTechTM PWL 4.5L engine, which meets emissions regulations without a diesel particulate filter (DPF). Spanning outputs from 63-104kW, this four-cylinder, 4.5litre engine offers reduced cost and improves engine packaging by eliminating the DPF, said Deere. However, the engine uses selective catalytic reduction (SCR), a diesel oxidation catalyst (DOC) and coo
