Work on the Interstate 275 in Florida, carried out by Lane, a subsidiary of Webuild, is now complete.

The I-275 Section 7 Phase 1 project is crucial for accommodating the growing traffic in the Tampa Bay area. It involved widening highway lanes and implementing advanced signalling and lighting systems to improve visibility and safety, from the I-4 interchange to north of Hillsborough Avenue. Innovative materials and eco-sustainable design solutions were used, along with the installation of backup generators for monitoring cameras to ensure their operation even during extreme weather events.

Lane is currently working on numerous road projects in Florida, including the I-275/I-4 Downtown Tampa Interchange and the Westshore Interchange, aimed at strengthening two of the area’s busiest junctions and enhancing emergency lanes used during extreme weather events in the Tampa Bay area.

Other ongoing projects include the Seminole Expressway/SR 417 Widening Project in Seminole County and improvements at the intersection of I-4 and Sand Lake Road in Orange County.

The Webuild Group, which has completed around 82,600km of roads and highways globally, works to modernise road and highway infrastructure in the US through projects such as the Newport News segment of the I-64 Hampton Roads Express Lanes (HREL) project in the state of Virginia and the I-440 Beltline Widening project in Wake County, North Carolina state.

Lane is also working on the 495 Express Lanes Northern Extension (495 NEXT) in the metropolitan area of Washington, DC and replacing and modernising works for the I-20 Bridge over Wateree River in Kershaw County, South Carolina.
