Kubota launches a new 8tonne KX080-4 mini excavator and two new 4tonne compact wheeled loaders

Mini excavator specialist Kubota has developed a new 8tonne KX080-4, which will be on show and CE certified at Bauma. With a tier 4 engine and a completely new cab design, the KX080-4 will join the company’s existing KX-4 series of compact excavators and be at the top end of Kubota’s weight class. There will also be two short tail-swing models on view, the U48-4 and the U55-4 weighing in at 4.7tonnes and 5.4tonnes respectively. Mini excavator specialist 1265 Kubota has developed a new 8tonne KX080-4, which will be on show and CE certified at 688 Bauma.

Also, look out for two new prototype mini excavators at 4.2tonnes and 4.8 tonnes as well as a new compact wheeled loader offering from Kubota. The new loader offers bucket sizes of 0.65m3 for the smaller model (operating weight 4375kg) and 0.85m3 for the bigger 4,775kg machine. Payload capacity with a pallet fork will be from 1.6tonnes to 2tonnes and by using a powerful hydrostatic drive and lifting frame with a Z-bar design, large lift and breakout forces can be achieved says Kubota. A center-pivot steering system will also offer the wheeled loader driver a smooth ride.

  • Tier 4 engines for Bobcat mini

Bobcat’s M Series mini excavators have moved to the Tier 4 emissions standard without the need for a diesel particulate filter (DPF). The E42, E45, E50 and E55 mid-size mini excavators use an ultra-low particulate combustion process engine, which in the two heavier models offers up to 12% more torque than previous models of a similar size. The excavators feature a cold weather protection system that recognises when engine temperatures are low and limits the maximum output to prevent premature component fail

Aimed at the 14tonne and 16tonne classes, the new Doosan DX140W-3 and DX160W-3 wheeled excavators are said to offer major performance gains over the models being replaced. As with the firm’s new crawler excavators, new cabs provide a more comfortable working environment, with improved controls and ergonomics and in-cab noise levels that are reduced by 5dBA. Both machines are powered by the proven Doosan DL06KB diesel, which delivers a 2% increase in power to 102kW and a 12% increase in torque over the previ
