Mini excavator specialist 1265 Kubota has developed a new 8tonne KX080-4, which will be on show and CE certified at 688 Bauma. With a tier 4 engine and a completely new cab design, the KX080-4 will join the company’s existing KX-4 series of compact excavators and be at the top end of Kubota’s weight class. There will also be two short tail-swing models on view, the U48-4 and the U55-4 weighing in at 4.7tonnes and 5.4tonnes respectively.

Also, look out for two new prototype mini excavators at 4.2tonnes and 4.8 tonnes as well as a new compact wheeled loader offering from Kubota. The new loader offers bucket sizes of 0.65m3 for the smaller model (operating weight 4375kg) and 0.85m3 for the bigger 4,775kg machine. Payload capacity with a pallet fork will be from 1.6tonnes to 2tonnes and by using a powerful hydrostatic drive and lifting frame with a Z-bar design, large lift and breakout forces can be achieved says Kubota. A center-pivot steering system will also offer the wheeled loader driver a smooth ride.

Following the success of its 8MCR high-speed compact excavator, Mecalac has developed a larger, heavier model, called the 10MCR. Like the smaller machine introduced in 2009, this new model combines the speed and manoeuvrability of a skid steer loader with the functionality of a midi excavator. Weighing in at nine tones and using a 75kW turbocharged diesel engine, the new model retains Mecalac’s MCR concept and uses a triangular track frame profile, which affords fast travel speeds in both directions usin
