Koridori Srbije signs Corridor 11 motorway deal with Shandong HSG

Serbian Minister of Infrastructure, Velimir Ilic, and the director of the roads company Koridori Srbije, Dmitar Durovic, say they have signed a contract agreement with the Chinese company Shandong High Speed Group, for construction of the Corridor 11 motorway, worth a total of €257.23 million (US$ 334mn). Serbian Minister of Infrastructure, Velimir Ilic, and the director of the roads company 3235 Koridori Srbije, Dmitar Durovic, say they have signed a contract agreement with the Chinese company Shandong High Speed Group, for construction of the Corridor 11 motorway, worth a total of €257.23 million (US$ 334mn).

The contract has been signed by Zhu Wei, deputy director of the Chinese company, for construction of the Ljig-Preljina part of 50km.

Meanwhile, a new tender is due to be called soon for construction of the Ljig-Preljina part on Corridor 11, and the Belgrade-Obrenovac part, worth some €600 million (US$779.07mn). The workforce for the project is expected to increase from 4,000 to 10,000.

    Chinese firm Shandong High Speed Group is to carry out a portion of the construction activity for Serbia’s Corridor 11 highway. The company will commence work on the section between Obrenovac to Ub and from Lajkovac to Ljig shortly. The agreement was signed between the Shandong High Speed Group and the Serbian Government.     In Serbia some million is being spent on developing the Corridor 10 and 11 highways during 2012. The work being carried out by Serbian roads company Koridori Srbije will include the 22km Ipsilon arm on Corridor 10, which will run from Kelebija to Subotica.

    The Serbian government has reported that it is planning to sign a loan agreement with China's Exim Bank for new loans worth US$ 1.1 billion for construction of the Corridor 11 motorway. Minister of Finance, Mladan Dinkic, said that the loan will be used for construction of the Belgrade-Ljig and Pojate-Preljina motorway parts. The contract agreement is due to be signed by the end of 2012 or beginning of 2013. Works are expected to start sometime next year.
