Kobelco is offering a sophisticated short tail swing excavator
2200 Kobelco is exhibiting a 26tonne short radius hydraulic excavator along with its sister company Kobelco Cranes at 688 Bauma. The company is returning on its own to markets in Europe, North America, South America, the Middle East and Russia following the termination of its previous arrangement with 1595 CNH. The SK260SRNLC-3 excavator features a two piece boom and is said to be both compact and stable, with power from a Hino diesel featuring DPF emissions technology. The short tail swing machine also offers improved fuel consumption and reduced operating noise over previous generation machines.  Kobelco’s innovative iNDr (integrated noise and dust reduction) system is said to reduce noise 5dB in the SK260SRNLC-3 to 95dB, amongst the lowest in its class. In addition, new hydraulic circuitry, a proprietary technology, reduces pressure loss, resulting in considerable improvement in fuel consumption. In comparison to a conventional SK235SRNLC-2, the new excavator has improved its digging productivity (m3/litre) by 6% in heavy digging (H) mode and by 9% in the newly set ECO mode, versus the previous model’s fuel saving (S) mode. Kobelco has now started recruiting dealers from all over the world and is actively continuing its efforts to recruit new dealers.

Greater fuel efficiency, improved digging performance and revised styling are among the changes to be found on Volvo’s latest D-series wheeled excavators. The four-model EW range spans 14-21tonnes and benefits from a new engine, cab, hydraulics, substructure, boom, arm and controls. There is more power with D-series, from stage IIIB engines that use V-ACT technology. The four cylinder (EW140D) and six cylinder engines produce high torque at low engine speeds, said Volvo, giving rise to low fuel consumption.
