Key road event planned for Russia

The Expotraffic 2013 exhibition is billed as Russia's showcase for the systems, products and services needed for safe and efficient highways operation and traffic management. The Expotraffic 2013 exhibition is billed as Russia's showcase for the systems, products and services needed for safe and efficient highways operation and traffic management. The event takes place at Moscow's Expocentr from 12th–14th March 2013 and has already attracted support from organisations leading highways policy and operation in Russia. Among these is the Department for Traffic Management of the Government of Moscow. Responsible for placing and managing traffic cameras, traffic lights, and for road safety and maintenance in the capital, the Department will also be taking a stand at the show. In addition, high-level endorsement of Expotraffic is being provided by two key national bodies - the Transport Committee of State Duma and the Federal Ministry of Transport. Visitors to Expotraffic will include managers, engineers and buyers from authorities and agencies responsible for highways planning, operation and maintenance, contracting companies, operators of parking services and research bodies. Among them will be delegates to the 5th Russian International Congress on Intelligent Transport Systems. Organised by the International Transport Academy and convening at Expocentr on the first two days on Expotraffic, this will explore the contribution that ITS can make to highway safety and efficiency. Last year's event attracted over 300 delegates representing more than 20 countries. Participants in the exhibition already include companies at the leading edge of highways technology, such as 259 Kapsch, global specialist in ITS technology, and the well-known firm 337 Swarco Trade & Service, supplier of a huge range of traffic management systems and products. Also taking part will be 4801 Solari di Udine, with a portfolio that ranges from traffic control technologies to parking management systems, plus many other firms pursuing the business opportunities offered by developments in Russia's highways network.
