Key road deal for Italy

A joint venture comprising Impregilo and Astaldi is to handle a key road upgrade contract in Italy. The deal is worth some €791 million and will be carried out over a period of 92 months.

A joint venture comprising 3149 Impregilo and 1324 Astaldi is to handle a key road upgrade contract in Italy. The deal is worth some €791 million and will be carried out over a period of 92 months. The project involves improvements to a 38km section of the Jonica National Road.

The Versova-Bandra Sea Link Project is expected to cost US$987.6 million to build and is should take five years to construct. When complete the 17.7km bridge will be the longest sea crossing in India. The project will be handled by a consortium made up of Astaldi and Reliance Infrastructure under an engineering, procurement and construction package. The deal was awarded by the Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation.

    Work on a major road project now looks set to commence shortly in Ethiopia. The US$221.7 million project will be carried out by a joint venture comprising Indian contractor IL&FS Transportation Networks (IL&FS) and its fully-owned Spanish arm Elsamex.
