Construction work is now pushing ahead on key highway connections in China's Shaanxi Province. One of the major projects is for a 79km highway that will link Jia County with Yulin in a deal worth some US$826 million. The project is being managed under the build-operate-transfer (BOT) model.

    Three of China’s provinces, Jiangsu, Shanxi and Sichuan, have announced plans to invest in infrastructure expansion. Jiangsu Province has set an impressive infrastructure budget. Some US$11.38 billion has been earmarked for transportation infrastructure projects during 2014. Of the total, $4.53 billion will be invested into road construction projects, while some $454.8 million will be targeted at the construction of civil airports.

  • Loans will help fund Kazakhstan road project

    The International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) is providing an infrastructure loan that will help fund a key road project in Kazakhstan. A major portion of this funding will be used to construct a key 79.5km portion of the new international transit corridor connecting Western Europe with Western China.     In Vietnam work is now being carried out on a new highway to connect southern province to Central Highlands, while progress is being achieved on the Ca Pass Tunnel project.
