Construction work is now pushing ahead on key highway connections in China's Shaanxi Province. One of the major projects is for a 79km highway that will link Jia County with Yulin in a deal worth some US$826 million. The project is being managed under the build-operate-transfer (BOT) model.

    Egis has signed a contract for the operation and maintenance of the Gebze-İzmir highway in Turkey. The agreement was signed with OTOYOL, the concessionaire for the Turkish General Directorate of Highways (KGM). This is the second major contract award for Egis in Turkey, following the Eurasia Tunnel deal, for a 5.4km twin-deck tunnel under the Bosphorus.     Work on an extension to the express lanes on the I-95 Interstate highway in the US will be carried by Fluor Enterprises and the Transurban Group.
