Key links to be upgraded in the Republic of Bashkortostan

The authorities in the Republic of Bashkortostan plan to boost road links with a series of key investments. Some 193km of the M5 and M7 Federal road in the Republic of Bashkortostan (Volga) will be improved under the plans. At this stage, the size of the investment required has not been revealed.

    The authorities in Morocco are working on plans for some 1800km of new motorways. The plan calls for improved links between the south and north of the country, connecting through the centre. A study is being carried out of the plans for the new road network. This new road construction programme has been suggested by Morocco’s Ministry for Equipment, Transport and Logistics. Key routes under evaluation will connect Agadir and the south, Fès, Tangier, Marrakesh, Safi, Meknès, Nador, Guercif and Béni-Mellal. T
  • British Colombia in Canada plans major road investment

    In Canada the British Colombia Government has announced a programme of road and highway upgrades worth a total of US$1.99 billion (C$2.5 billion). The investment will be used to rehabilitate side roads, highways and bridges across the province. This plan will include repaving some 1,000km/year of provincial highway, with this plan stretching out over a period of 10 years. A key portion of the work will be to widen Highway 1 section to six lanes between Abbotsford and Langley. The proposed plan has been titl
