Key investments for major link in Jalisco State, Mexico

An investment of US$ 646 million will improve sections of road in Mexico’s Jalisco State, as well as other links. A 30km road connecting with Tepic will be upgraded, along with 169km of highway and 111km of another road. Mexican firm IDEAL is investing in the links.

    OHL Mexico, a subsidiary of Spanish construction firm OHL, has confirmed it will bid for the construction and operation contract for Mexico’s La Raza-Indios Verdes-Santa Clara motorway. The 9.5km road worth around US$364 million will be let as a public-private partnership under the federal government’s National Infrastructure Programme, Mexico’s El Economista newspaper reported.     Mexico’s Federal Government has allocated close to US$1 billion for a programme of key infrastructure works. The plan includes 80 infrastructure works in the state of Michoacan. Key work carried out so far includes building 100km of rural roads as well as the Cuitzeo-Patzcuaro highway, which is close to completion. The 64km highway connects Mexico-Guadalajara motorway with Lazaro Cardenas port.
