In India a total of eight road projects worth US$1.43 billion have been given approval by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI).

In India a total of eight road projects worth US$1.43 billion have been given approval by the 292 National Highways Authority of India (NHAI). These projects are for upgrading and construction of highways in eight states including Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Orissa, Bihar, Andhra Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Haryna. One of the biggest projects to be approved is the upgrade and widening of a section of National Highway 5 in Andhra Pradesh. The highway will be widened to three lanes in either direction along a 183km stretch. The Delhi-Agra section of National Highway No 2 in Uttar Pradesh and Haryana will also be upgraded and widened to three lanes in either direction. The Delhi-Agra upgrade project will be developed under the build-operate-transfer (BOT) model as part of the National Highways Development Project (NHDP) and will be for a 26 year concession. In addition, the NHAI has awarded the $197.61 million Hosur-Krishnagiri road project on National Highway 7 (NH-7) in Tamil local firm Nadu to 1234 Reliance Infrastructure. The work will see maintenance and widening of the Hosur-Krishnagiri road section to a six lanes with three in either direction. The project is for a 24 year concession including the construction period and is being operted under the deisgn, build, operate and transfer (DBFOT) (toll) basis. The company has completed its Dindigul-Samayanallur road project on the NH-7 and the Namakkal-Karur Toll road project on the NH-7 at Tamil Nadu. Reliance Infrastructure is currently building 10 road projects.

These three contracts were all awarded by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI).
