Key highway upgrades for Ukraine will be funded by a World Bank loan

External funding will pay for maintenance and safety upgrades on Ukraine’s road network. The section being repaired lies between Christchurch and Picton and was heavile damaged by the earthquake that struck in November 2016. A portion of the necessary repair work has already been carried out. Some additional funding will be provided by New Zealand’s National Land Transport Fund to pay for further road repair works to other coastal connections.

    The Indian Government is providing assistance for road construction work in neighbouring Nepal. This assistance is for building the Kulekhani – Kathmandu road section, which will be widened and upgraded with an asphalt surface.
