Work is to commence shortly in Italy on a major highway construction project worth more than €490 million.

Work is to commence shortly in Italy on a major highway construction project worth more than €490 million. The new 9.5km highway stretch will connect the A15 and A22 highways and will form part of the planned Tyrrhenian-Brennero corridor connecting Italy with Central Europe. Italy's state-controlled road concessionary 1184 ANAS has given the highway operator Autocamionale della Cisa to go ahead with the project.

    plan for Italy’s key Orte-Mestre highway has been unveiled with the project expected to cost over €11 billion. Of this, some €1.43 billion is expected to be funded by the Italian Government, while €9.5 billion is expected to be provided by private sources.
